Group Manager – Sustainability, Meat & Livestock Australia
Dr. Joe McMeniman is Group Manager – Sustainability for Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) with research interests in greenhouse gas inventory refinement, methane inhibitors, livestock efficiency, climate science, agroforestry and digital agriculture. For the last decade Joe has worked closely with the Feedlot industry at MLA. Prior to joining MLA, Joe obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. from Texas Tech University majoring in Animal Science, and has extensive experience as a feedlot nutritionist servicing clients throughout Australia and Indonesia.
CN30 Project Manager, Meat & Livestock Australia
Julia has a background in agricultural science, agtech and startup investment. In her role as CN30 Project Manager with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), she’s responsible for identifying high impact R&D opportunities that progress the red meat sector's net emissions reduction goal by 2030. This portfolio of research spans fields of genetics, animal husbandry, methane inhibitors, agroforestry, soil carbon and pastures. Prior to joining MLA, Julia was Head of Operations at SproutX, a national accelerator and venture fund for food and agtech startups based in Melbourne.
