McDonald’s, Sainsburys and NFU to speak at Meat Business Women UK and Ireland Conference 2022

Karen O’Connor, Head of MFP at Sainsburys and Tina Dekker, Chief Legal Counsel & Chair of McDonald’s global women’s network have been announced as the first keynote speakers at the First UK & Ireland Meat Business Women conference in May 2022.

Minette Batters, NFU President has also been announced as a speaker and will address delegates on the reality of change for the meat sector. Coaching expert Carol Glover, who works with senior and emerging leaders will lead an afternoon session exploring leadership mindset for change.

The conference, taking place at NatWest, Bishopsgate London on 18th May 2022 will be themed around ‘The Challenge of Change.’ Delegates will hear from leading experts on the changes in the meat sector, external industry leaders on how they deal with change both professionally and personally, how life stages can impact our approach to change and finally workshop what it means for them via dedicated development sessions.

In a recent survey asking members of Meat Business Women about their preferred themes for the conference, ‘adapting to changes within the sector’ was a top priority for many. Delegates will have the chance to learn from experts and ensure that they are well-equipped to deal with these changes as well as connecting and building networks with industry peers in a welcoming environment.

In response to an increasing appetite for ‘hybrid’ events, the conference will also be livestreamed, allowing for delegates who are not able to attend in person, to access and take part in the morning sessions and keynote speakers.

Laura Ryan, Chair and Founder of Meat Business Women says: “The Meat Business Women conference brings together women from all parts of the meat industry to share the business and soft skills they need to build successful careers. And there is no better way than to learn from the best. We’re immensely proud and grateful to have the support of high-profile leaders who have agreed to share their own lessons on business and personal transformation with our community.”

In addition to a full speaker programme, Meat Business Women’s One to Watch award will be launched at the conference in May. The winner of the One to Watch award will receive £4,000 towards their personal development.

More speaker developments will be announced over the next few months.
