International Women's Day 2024 Resource Pack
As we prepare to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March 2024, we wanted to share some ideas on how you can join in the festivities and promote women's achievements, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality.
This year's theme is #InspireInclusion, and the official IWD website states:
"For International Women's Day 2024 and beyond, let's Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. The aim of the IWD 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign is to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women."

7 more great ways to celebrate IWD 2024:
1. Attend the Meat Business Women event: Support your team to attend our IWD event on Friday 8th March, kindly hosted by McDonald’s UK & Ireland at their office in East Finchley, London. We have a number of speakers including Laura Henderson, VP of Supply Chain for McDonald’s and Katharine Haenelt, UK Managing Director of OSI. Attendees will experience workshops with Personal Impact Coach, Janie Van Hool, to tackle self-doubt and learn how to make networking work for them.
2. Network: Host an in-person or online panel event where inspiring women share their life experiences, knowledge, and advice with other in your organisation. Or organise a coffee morning to celebrate your female employees. Use this opportunity to discuss the theme #InspireInclusion and invite everyone to share their experiences about inspirational women in their lives or female public figures they look up to.
3. Photo Challenge: Encourage staff to participate in the #InspireInclusion photo challenge and share their photos on social media using the hashtags #IWD2024 and #InspireInclusion. The challenge involves striking the IWD 2024 pose by making a heart shape with their hands to show solidarity.
4. Download: our IWD Meat Business Women Teams/Zoom backgrounds to use during online meetings and events during the first week of March. These backgrounds will help inspire and engage your colleagues and customers/suppliers to #InspireInclusion.
5. Share: a statement from your executive team on the importance of actively supporting women's advancement in the workplace. Distribute this statement via email or post it on your company's LinkedIn page. Remeber to tag in Meat Business Women.
6. Showcase: Highlight and celebrate the achievements of women within your organisation through employee case studies. Showcase these success stories through internal communication channels like newsletters or intranet.
And remember to tag Meat Business Women in and share your activity plans with us so that we can help amplify!
