Margaret Boanas

Chair of International Meat Trade Association

After studying for an HND in Business Studies, Margaret began work in Sheffield as an Assistant Meat Buyer in 1974. She subsequently moved to London where she worked in and around Smithfield and South East London and her career in the Meat Industry has spanned over 40 years.

She is Chairman of the International Meat Trade Association and Vice President of the European Meat Trade Association UECBV, with responsibility for International Trade. These positions bring her into regular contact with both the EU Commission and UK Government departments. She sits on the Court of the Worshipful Company of Butchers as a Warden. Margaret is married with two daughters and lives in South East London.
