About Sam Tinsley
Sam came into the Meat Industry just over 3 years ago – and has rapidly established herself as a much needed change agent – bringing her experience and skillset of Digital Transformation and Organisational Leadership to the Industry.
Taking the helm of a traditional distributor business and working with Strategic partners in the fields of Automation, Robotics and Vision technology, she quickly embraced the very obvious challenge to support the move in technology in the sector.
“From the moment I entered the Meat Industry and from my very first walk through a Production Plant I could see the opportunity. To be a driving force in the revolution of this Industry is one I absolutely relish. Steeped in tradition and hampered through years of under investment and consistent squeezing of margins has left this Industry almost on its knees. However Meat IS an absolute staple of our diet – despite some changes in preference and severe attacks about the alleged environmental impacts – the market for meat, I believe, will always be there – and the research supports this. Therefore we need to look to transform the Industry utilising all available angles – this means technology – but above and beyond this – people. Meat Business Women, for me, is THE best “networking” group I have ever encountered and to be an active part of it is very fulfilling. As any Leader can tell you , investing in the best technology is only ever the tip of the iceberg – the real challenge lies in aligning the entire workforce to the same outcome – and this is where tapping into the amazing pool of female talent both inside and outside the industry comes in. This group really does move mountains – to see them support, coach, guide and frankly pull our wonderful members together to make a real difference is staggering. I am very humbled to be part of this team”.
Sam become a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers in 2019 and completed her Masters level in Organisational Leadership at the University of Oxford in the same year. In 2020 Sam has formed her own Organisation, AJMInspired Ltd. and continues to work with leading Engineering and Digital Technology businesses in helping to transform the Global Meat Industry.
Sam is married with three children and lives in the North of England.
