Why 'Fuelled by Ambition'?

Ten years ago, Meat Business Women set out with our own bold ambition - to connect, inspire, and empower women to build successful careers in the meat industry. Since then, we've made great strides on gender balance, but we know that change can happen faster.

According to global research conducted by Meat Business Women for the meat manufacturing sector, women accounted for just 33.5% of the workforce in 2023 – a decline from 36% in 2020.

We’re launching The Food Chain Charter to guide the next decade of gender inclusion, calling on individuals and organisations to take meaningful action toward a more balanced industry with 40% female repesentation across the food industry by 2035.

And we know the food industry is full of incredible, ambitious people who are working towards their own unqiue goals. We're shining a light on them to ensure they are represented and celebrated.
